Style winner Anna Perez with Colleen McLoughlin
The winner of Aintree’s coveted Style 2008 competition at the John Smith’s Grand National meeting will be back at Aintree in just a few weeks time to judge Aintree’s newest style competition, ‘Fabulous Fashion Filly’.
The initiative will take place on Aintree’s final race meeting of the summer season on Friday 13th June and will see Style 2008 winner, Anna Perez of Gateacre, join our panel of experts to pick the most stylish lady on the evening and reward one lucky racegoer with a trip of a lifetime, a fabulous 7-night all-inclusive Almond Resorts Caribbean holiday for two to Barbados or St Lucia.
Taking place just one week before the one of the most renowned fashion events of the summer season, Royal Ascot, Aintree Racecourse is encouraging its racegoers to don their best summer outfits and compete with its southern counterparts and paint the North West red at Aintree’s new and only summer race fixture.
Inspired by Style 2008, Fabulous Fashion Filly will offer style savvy racegoers the chance to strut their stuff on the catwalk again in front of a panel of local style experts. Anna Perez was crowned Aintree’s most stylish racegoer and was picked as the overall winner of the contest from over 2,000 racegoers on Aintree’s Ladies’ Day, which makes her suitably qualified for the role of a judge for Aintree’s new competition. The Fabulous Fashion Filly contest will give racegoers another chance to showcase their raceday attire and will take place in the Old Weighing Room from 6.15pm on the evening. Manchester style store, Selfridges, will also be on hand to offer raceday fashion advice.
On the evening, the first of 6 races starts at 6.05pm, with the evening concluding with a live 90-minute performance by Britain’s most successful chart band, Madness, who will perform a number of their chart hits including; ‘It Must Be Love’, ‘Our House, ‘Baggy Trousers’, ‘My Girl’ and ‘One Step Beyond’. Their performance will take place in the Aintree Pavilion, and to date will be their only gig in Liverpool this year so promises to be an unmissable occasion.
Tickets for the event are still available from the racecourse booking office, online at aintree.co.uk. Tickets for the event cost just £16 for adults, and are available at this price for a special extended period until Friday 30th May. Tickets after this date cost £21. Admission allows access to all public areas, including all grandstands and unreserved seats, as well as the viewing of the new parade ring and winner’s enclosure. Child tickets are available for children aged 6-16 (accompanied by an adult) and cost £12. To make a booking, contact the racecourse box office on 0151 522 2929. Great deals on hospitality are also available from £73, call 0151 522 2911 for further details. Further details regarding the evening can be found at www.aintree.co.uk.
Emma Owen, Marketing & PR Manager for Aintree Racecourse said, ‘If racegoers haven’t had a chance to join us yet for racing this summer, our final night of the Fabulous Friday Nights series is going to be truly unmissable. With racing and live music, plus the chance to win an Almond Resorts Caribbean holiday, all for the early booking price of £16, there’s no better reason for organising a night out with family and friends this summer.’
