I'm not the biggest SATC fan but I think there's something magical and fairytale about it. The outfits, the locations the situations - it's fantasy and I like to get lost in it.
In the trailer there's...
...the twinkling lights of New York set behind the outfits we could never afford (and even if we could, they wouldn't look like they do on SJP). If they did, watching the show wouldn't be the same escapist experience.
I'm glad I'm three or four sizes too big for her clothes and several hundreds of thousands of pounds too poor to buy them - I'd miss wishing I could.
I think fashion is taking that thing you wish you could be or look like and making it more realistic. Have a look at the outfits, decide what you like then make it your own.
For example - in the trailer SJP has a dress on covered in roses.

I have a similar outfit from Karen Millen, which I will now dig out, dust off and dance away the night in. I couldn't upload the photos to the blog so here's a link to my Flickr page. Firstly shoes then outfit.
