New year, new me! Well that's what I keep telling myself.. And top of my list of new year's resolutions is to smarten myself up for work (or to wear heels instead of Ugg boots on at least 2 days of the week).
But it's not just me that should be turning over a new leaf. I'm calling on men to don their best ties for work, to start 2008 as they mean to go on - in style.
My other half, Mr Fashionista, NEVER wears a tie to work, to my disapproval. His excuse is he "doesn't have to". But why should that matter? I don't have to comb my hair before I leave the house, but I think it's important to make an effort to project a smart, business-like image in the workplace, and my natural, pre-GHD Amy Winehouse bird's nest just can't do that!

As Jonathan demonstrates on a regular basis, there is some seriously stylish neckwear out there, and with the January sales already in full swing, you chaps are bound to find something you like. Here are a few ideas to start you off.
For the label-conscious among you, Ted Baker are slashing the prices on their silk ties, some from as much as £40 down to £28. My personal favourite is Marks and Spencer's Collezione range, who have some gorgeous pure silk woven ties in a range of sophisticated, smudgy colours, all priced at around £15. Still not satisfied? Tie Rack are offering up to 70% off on their products, and men's silk ties are 2 for £8. Don't say I don't spoil you.
Do you like wearing ties to work? If not, why not? Enlighten me!

Great post Kathryn.
I'm a dedicated tie wearer - although my ties are looking a little worse for wear.
I will check out the outlets you have mentioned - but £40 is a little steep!
And I must take issue with you regarding Jonathan Ross's neckwear. They are horrendous.
